DANISH RESEARCH CENTER FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL AND INTERDISCIPLINARY EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT (PIES)

A partnership to advance research and practice in psychological and interdisciplinary educational support in schools and early childhood settings

At the Danish Research Center for Psychological and Interdisciplinary Educational Support (PIES), we generate knowledge about children’s and young people’s participation and development. We examine the dynamics that shape productive collaboration with parents and among the various professionals involved in supporting children and young people.

Our research seeks to identify conditions that are conducive to participation, learning, and well-being, as well as to understand the dynamics that produce the challenges and vulnerabilities in children’s everyday lives across different contexts.

We aim to provide a research-informed foundation for developing pedagogical practices and interdisciplinary, cross-professional collaboration—from the administrative level to everyday work in day care institutions and schools.

The center addresses the need to provide an overview of existing research on psychological and interdisciplinary educational support, while also building collaboration that will strengthen future research.
